I’m moving to Google Fiber heaven and starting a new job

I’m moving to Kansas City, Missouri, where the megabits run free. Well, not actually free — but they do run up to 1,000 Mbps up and down.

This move was prompted by a job change: Soon, I’ll be joining the digital team at The Kansas City Star. Yes, I’m headed back to a newspaper. Why? Because, dammit, I just love working for that industry.

Leaving Newsy wasn’t easy because I’ve been able to report on two topics I really care about: technology and business. What I’m hoping is that this blog (the one you’re reading right now) serves as my platform for technology coverage, though I might also be covering technology in some capacity with The Star.

Despite having a new job with less emphasis on tech reporting, you can still count on me to stay knowledgeable and deliver useful tech news. And you never know — living in a city with a humble yet competitive startup scene may reveal some really awesome opportunities.

To summarize: New job. New city. Same blog. (Maybe even a better blog?) Stay tuned.
