Hewlett Packard announced today that its Web OS for mobile devices is going to become open sourced– So, good news or bad news?
Well, earlier this year HP also announced that it would discontinue its computer design and sales. On top of that within the past month HP’s CEO said Apple would sell more macbook pros and iPads than HP would sell computers in 2012, and apparently this slowly dying company also has a new lawsuit on its hands thanks to its printers’ web capabilities.
If this company was a sinking ship– well, I bought my last HP in 2007. I believe that’s saying enough.
But what do all these new changes mean for HP’s customers? So far a plan of action hasn’t been issued. If I still owned an HP computer the first thing I would do is make recovery media.
Until more plans are announced by Hewlett Packard, just don’t drop or spill coffee on that laptop ; )
